In 2001 Michael Seifert, along with four fellow internet zealots, all well-respected for their technical expertise, established Sitecore. Michael envisioned the need for a Microsoft-centric system for creating and managing websites that could take the online experience far beyond the then present technology. Michael and his team developed a Web Content Management platform with functionality and appeal that was completely disruptive in the market, and which has evolved to be a market leader today. These five continue to be key contributors to the company, with Michael leading the business as CEO.

2. What makes Sitecore different than other companies in your marketspace?

Sitecore's suite of products combines and utilizes our team's deep marketing and sales understanding to develop digital technology. Sitecore launched the first Web Content Management system that incorporated marketing automation, mobile web, intranet portal, e-commerce, Web optimization, and campaign management technologies into a cohesive, integrated Web Content Management platform.

3. What has been Sitecore's greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

With more than a 50 percent increase in sales and revenues, Sitecore opened up a number of offices around the world in the past year - most notably in Japan and China. In its first ever appearance in a Forrester Wave, Sitecore was named a Strong Performer in the 2011 Forrester Wave: WCM for Online Customer Experience. Forrester applauds and recommends Sitecore's offerings for its enterprise customers. In addition, this year has also been the year of the enterprise customers for us that include the likes of Comcast, Heineken, and Bayer. Our technology delivers answers for marketing automation, eCommerce, social community - all the key business needs that now go through a website.

4. What is the biggest challenge Sitecore faces in the marketplace today?

The global marketplace is undergoing fundamental change from mass marketing to individual dialogue. Businesses and organizations need solutions that combine e-mail marketing, campaign management and follow-up, marketing research, e-commerce, and Web analytics.  Our goal is to continue to innovate and remain focused on developing solutions that address the needs of our customers and partners.

5. Why is Sitecore a MITX member?

We recently opened an east coast headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire and our customer and partner base is very strong in the Boston area. The networking opportunities with interactive agencies and Web design firms was a huge draw for us in joining MITX. In addition, the events and learning sessions help us stay current on business trends, make new contacts, and maintain relationships on a face to face level.

6. Why did Sitecore choose to open an office in New Hampshire?

We chose the New England area as our new east coast headquarters for its many business advantages, easy accessibility and concentration on technology. Furthermore, New Hampshire's recognition as one of the "most livable states" offers our employees from around the world an opportunity to live and work in a thriving community. Our customers and partners now have direct and local access to training, sales and product support and additional partner community development.
